Navigating Go Daddy's Website to install Word Press for your blog by Peter Phun

This tutorial is for those having a hard time navigating GoDaddy's totally cluttered web interface. It is intended for folks who find their website totally confusing, just as I still do. I get the feeling whoever designed it was told to hide/cram every single thing into that page along with lots of different colors. And don't even get me started on the numerous drop down menus when you mouse over the different navigation buttons.

So in the interest of moving this along, just scroll down and let's see if I can help out.

Enter your customer# or Login name, password

Under "Hosting & Servers"
choose "My Hosting Account"

Check the white box to select the domain name you want to install Word Press on. Then under "Control Panel" click "Open"
In the next window, scroll down to the content section and click on "Hosting Metropolis"
Click on "Metropolis" again.....
Over on the left side of the page, click on "Word Press" While you're here check out the other apps you can install like Advanced Guestbook and others like Vanilla Forum etc.

You're almost there. Click install and you'll be prompted to name a MySQL database. Don't know what that is? Don't worry about it. Just enter a username and password when asked. And follow the prompts from there.

Since I haven't tried other webhosts, I don't have a basis for comparison. If the others are like GoDaddy's interface, God help us.! As customers we don't usually come into this control panel to change things much, so if you haven't poked around here a while, you're bound to forget where everything is.

If you have other optional adds on for your webhosting, you know the Easter Egg Hunt has just begun. Do you know how to get to your "Traffic Blazer" control panel? How about "'Traffic Facts?",
