Photomator 3.4 as an alternative to Adobe Lightroom Classic

A couple I photographed recently in Temecula in faux film
Using one of Photomator’s export settings called Frames. I easily created this faux film look for Lynda and Matthew

Until recently when I canceled my subscription to Adobe’s Creative Cloud bundle of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop, I felt like I always needed a particular set of tools to make my pictures exactly how I want them.

After one day of switching to Photomator which was recently bought by Apple, I could see I can adapt.

Here’s Lynda and Matthew in a frame that resembles a viewfinder. Pretty nifty, isn’t it?

I can adapt because I know what I like and dislike in my portraits. In case you haven’t noticed, I mostly photograph people so in my niche, my needs are quite specific.

In exporting a picture which I quickly edited in Photomator I found a nice option in the export settings: frames!

Photomator’s Export Window has just about everything Lightroom offered plus these ‘frames’. If you use a watermark like a signature that is a vector file, you can choose the “image” option under Watermark intead of “Text” To resize your images you don’t upload the full resolution picture, choose “Custom” and set your preference for the pixels accordingly.

It’s still early days I’m sure and the honeymoon will be over shortly lol. Honestly  I am quite pleased I decided to leave behind Adobe’s rent-our-software forever terms.

If you are familiar with my work, I hope you won’t notice after this switch my work still suck like before. The saving grace to this is: I don’t have to pay Adobe to make bad pictures anymore.
