Spinning, motion sickness and acting talent

Before I quit my very repetitious ride back and forth along the bike path I asked, “Have you guys had enough?”

I wanted to be sure they felt they had some good images of panning, before we headed to the playground area.

The next exercise, my least favorite, involved rotations, revolutions and motion sickness.

I broke out my clamps so that 3 students could mount their cameras  onto the torture device .

We set our self-timers to 10 seconds and let the fun begin.

Our exposures were ISO 100 1/30sec @ f22 and the focal length was about 18mm on the kit lenses with a 1.6x magnification factor.

So if you had a full frame camera body, it would have been like a 35mm lens.

As you can see the more fun images are the ones with faces which appear anxious.

That should tell you that talent is require to sell believability even on  a still image.
