One of the most rewarding experiences of my previous job as a news photographer is I got to meet a lot of interesting, creative and generous people.

I worked with Valérie Berta Torales , a wonderful photographer a few years at the newspaper.

I am envious of her current itinerant life.

She documents the travels of her young family and husband Fridman Torales Rio who works as a circus performer.

Valérie gets to live out the fantasy of many folks who dream about running away and joining the circus.

She has so graciously allowed me to share her wonderful images.

Originally from France, Valérie has a Masters degree in Photojournalism from University of Missouri-Columbia and a Master’s degree in English.

Her blog, “The Mudshow Diaries” has many wonderful images.

It’s a rare look into their world.  I highly recommend you subscribe to her blog.
