Motion 2 Slow shutter speeds

Most of the time, a picture taken at a slow shutter speed ends up blurry and nothing in the image appears sharp or in focus.

But when motion is controlled and in a predictable direction like horizontally in a circle, we can get surprising results if the camera also moves in the same direction and speed as the subject.

For this project, we stayed indoors where the light is predictable.

Spinning

Inside our classroom, we used our chairs which had wheels or casters. Then we set  our camera’s lens to the 18mm setting. Here are the starting points for camera settings

  • ISO 400
  • Shutter Speed 1/15
  • Aperture f11
