Best of our Forced Perspective efforts

About a month into our semester, we have jumped right in to a fun challenge. Without the use of photoshop, the challenge was to make toys appear life-size, if not bigger than humans.

We used only camera technique, selective focusing and the smallest aperture on our 18-55mm lens. That meant we used between f22 and f36. The key trick in all these pictures is for the people to not look at the camera but to pretend they are interacting with the toys.

Also, the lens was manually focused not on the toy or the person but somewhere in between. WE also stayed outdoors where the light was better so we wouldn’t encounter camera shake issues from low shutter speeds.

After importing into Adobe Lightroom Classic, we did some editing for exposure and also removal of distracting objects.
