This last year at Jurupa Valley High has flown by so quickly. I had not intended for this to be my last year of teaching at a high school but I felt it was time.

It was a privilege to share my passion for still pictures with you all. I understand that for many of you, it was an elective your counselor signed you up for.

But I hope those of you who stuck it out learned something fun and useful or at least developed an appreciation of how a good picture is rarely an accident. There is such a thing called Visual literacy.
That the photographer actually spent some time to come up with an idea, learned how to edit the image the camera produced to reveal exactly what the photographer had in mind.

I also hope you learned how to better use a computer, how and why to create a simple website so the world can see or read what you have to say.

Don’t be a passive consumer of content. You now have a voice, use it.

If you don’t have much to say, how about if you tell me about the assignments you enjoyed doing?

Hi Demian,
Thank you for your thoughtfulness. I enjoyed having you in my class. I felt I did my absolute best to make the class as interesting as I could. I did not have much to work as far as support from admin and it looked like this next school would be just a bad. Nevertheless, I am happy I was able to make a difference in a handful students’ photography experience in high school. You can always reach me here.
Hey Mr. Phun, thank you so much for inspiring me to pursue photography in a world where its scary to seek a career in arts. I really enjoyed having class with you this year and i hope we get to reconnect soon in some way, shape, or form. I wish you the best for what you plan on doing next in this new chapter of life, take care Mr. Phun!
Thank you so much Gisell. You and Saul made 6th period a lot of fun to teach. God Bless you both
I really enjoyed every assignment we worked on because they were all unique in some way. Having you as a teacher also made them very memorable. I wish you the best in this new journey of yours!
